Privacy Policy
PulseQ is an independently operated educational service. This policy explains the information PulseQ processes to provide a secure, personalized experience, the reasons for that processing, and the choices available to you.
Information processed
We process account information such as your display name, email address, password credential, verification state, leaderboard preferences, consent records, and security records; learning activity such as answers, timing, notes, flags, confidence, sessions, reports, and mastery signals; communications and support requests; and technical information such as IP address, device or browser information, secure-session cookies, request metadata, and security events. Passwords are stored as one-way credentials rather than readable passwords.
How information is used
Information is used to authenticate users, keep learner data separate, personalize study recommendations, operate feature access and opted-in leaderboard standings, deliver and support the service, prevent abuse, investigate security events, communicate account changes, and meet legal obligations.
Public leaderboard information
Leaderboards are opt-in by default. They show the display name you choose during signup, or another public alias you later choose, together with accuracy or streak results. They do not publish your email address. You can change the alias or opt out from your account settings.
Cookies and browser signals
PulseQ uses first-party cookies needed for secure sign-in and session continuity. The free beta does not use advertising cookies or third-party behavioral analytics. Because the service does not sell or share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising, it does not currently offer a separate “Do Not Sell or Share” control. Browser Do Not Track signals are not standardized; PulseQ does not use them to change essential account processing. Legally recognized opt-out preference signals will be honored where applicable.
Service providers
Service providers may include Cloudflare for application hosting, database infrastructure, and bot protection, and Resend for transactional account email. They process information under their own terms and privacy commitments. The free beta does not collect payment-card information.
Sharing and sale
We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. Information may be disclosed to service providers that operate the service, to comply with law, to protect users or the service, during a merger or other organizational transaction, or when you direct us to share it.
Retention and security
Account and learning information is retained while your account is active. After an account request or closure, information is deleted or deidentified within a reasonable operational period unless it must be retained for security, dispute resolution, legal obligations, backups, or service integrity. Security logs and backup copies may persist for a limited additional period. Safeguards include verified accounts, scoped database access, secure cookies, rate limits, bot protection, session revocation, audit records, and encrypted transport. No system is completely secure.
Your choices
You can update certain account settings, choose a public leaderboard alias, or opt out of leaderboards. You may request access, correction, deletion, or a portable copy of account information by emailing privacy@pulseqbank.com. We may need to verify that the request concerns your account. You may appeal a denied request by replying with “Privacy appeal” in the subject line. Rights vary by location, and PulseQ will honor applicable rights without unlawful discrimination.
Children and sensitive information
The service is intended only for adults and is not directed to children under 18. Do not enter patient names, medical record numbers, health records, or other protected health information into PulseQ. If we learn that information was submitted by an ineligible user or that prohibited patient information was entered, we may delete it and close the account.
International use
Information may be processed in the United States and other locations used by PulseQ or its service providers. Do not use the service where this processing or these terms are unlawful.
Changes and contact
Material policy changes will be presented with a new version date and, when required, renewed consent. Privacy questions and rights requests may be sent to privacy@pulseqbank.com. General support requests may be sent to support@pulseqbank.com.
